Małgorzata Butterwick (Poland)

She did her first live art piece in October 2003, and since then has realized over 40 actions at individual events and international festivals in Poland, Spain, Sweden, N.Ireland, Serbia, Quebec/Canada, Japan, Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina. They include performances, video-performances, site specific/street actions as well as an experimental 9-month project ´9 & ˝ Fridays´. Since the end of 2007 she has been developing a processual cycle of performances "SEDU/A/CTION"

She is also an active writer publishing texts on performance and contemporary art at various magazines and catalogues.( Currently, she is a doctoral student at the INTERMEDIA department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she lives since 2003. Previous 8 years she spent in England and Northern Ireland (Belfast), where co-found and co-run a live-art organization Bbeyond.

She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland; ((also holds a post graduate diploma in (Cultural and Arts Management, obtained at the Queen´s University of Belfast.
